Trying to even begin to rectify the problems with this approach and explain the reasoning behind why it sort of wasn't emulated go very, very deep. Swinging I just mapped to L-Trigger + face buttons (since all it cares about is swinging the wii-remote, not the direction) & nunchuck shake (spin attack) I mapped to L-Trigger + R-Trigger + X. In DS4Windows, I set the gyro to map to the right stick and am using that for the IR sensor (works better than I expected honestly, especially since the r-stick still works for aiming if it becomes a problem). Managed to get the controls working decently well actually.
